## How it works

Three steps, from a photo to a shopping list.

1. **Snap your fridge.** Take up to 4 photos of your fridge, cupboard and freezer. We list what we see. You check it, add anything we missed, or type it all in instead.
2. **Get a week under budget.** Set your weekly budget and household. WattaEat plans the week's meals around what you already have, with an estimated price on every one.
3. **Shop by aisle.** Your list skips what's already at home and is sorted by aisle, so you go round the store once.

## Built to spend less and waste less

### Pantry first

Spinach about to wilt? It goes into Monday’s dinner, not the bin.

- Food that needs using soon is planned in first
- Basics you always have stay off your list
- Swap any meal you don't fancy

### Plan

Set what you want to spend. Every meal is priced before you shop.

- Every meal shows an estimated cost before you shop
- Planned for your household: adults, kids, diets and allergies
- Swap a meal or regenerate a day and stay on budget

### Shop

What you already have is left off. Every line has an estimated price.

- Grouped by aisle: produce, dairy, pantry and more
- Share the list with whoever's doing the shop

## Made for real kitchens and real budgets

Whoever does the shopping in your home, WattaEat plans around them.

- **Families:** Set the number of adults and kids. Portions, costs and the shopping list follow your household.
- **Cooking for one or two:** Plan smaller weeks, with leftovers planned into lunch so half a pack doesn't go off.
- **Tight budgets:** Pick a weekly budget first. Every meal shows an estimated cost before you buy anything.
- **Less food in the bin:** Spinach about to wilt or chicken near its date goes into this week's dinners first.

## Questions and answers

### What is WattaEat?

WattaEat is a budget meal planner for iPhone. You photograph your fridge, cupboard or freezer, set a weekly grocery budget, and it plans a week of meals that uses what you already have first, with an estimated cost on every meal and a shopping list sorted by aisle.

### Do I have to photograph my fridge?

No. Photos are the quickest way in, but you can type your pantry instead, or add anything the scan missed.

### Does it work for one person or a big family?

Yes. You set how many adults and children you cook for, and the portions, costs and shopping list follow your household.

### How accurate are the prices?

They're estimates. We price 3,000+ grocery items using official average price data where it exists and our own estimates for the rest, adjusted for the stores you pick. Your total at the till will differ, especially with offers and store brands. After each week you can enter what you actually spent, and we use it to bring next week's estimates closer.

### Can it handle allergies and diets?

Yes. Tell us about allergies, diets and foods you won't eat during setup, and we leave those ingredients out of your plans. Because this can be health information, we ask for your consent first. Always check product labels yourself. WattaEat can't see how a product was made, and manufacturers change recipes. If an allergy is serious, don't rely on the app alone.

### What happens to my fridge photos?

Your photo is uploaded securely so our AI can read what's in it. We don't use your photos to train AI models. You can edit or delete the list of items any time. Details are in our privacy policy .

### Which countries are supported?

The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France and Italy. Each country gets its own prices, stores, units, holidays and recipes. The app is in English, French, German and Italian.

### What if the scan gets something wrong?

It can happen: things at the back, labels it can't read, leftovers in tubs. You always check your inventory before we plan, and you can add anything we missed or type everything in instead.

### What's free, and what does it cost?

Your first week is free with the yearly plan: 7 days free, then $49.99 a year. The weekly plan is $6.99 a week, with no free trial. Without a trial or subscription, fridge scans and weekly plans are locked. In the EU it's €49.99 or €6.99 .

### How do I cancel?

Subscriptions go through the App Store. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose WattaEat. You can also go to Settings › Subscription in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal so you aren't charged for the next period. More help is on the support page .

### Is WattaEat on Android?

Not yet. WattaEat is iPhone only for now.
