WattaEat Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This policy explains what data the WattaEat app collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions? Write to our support at hello@alicantilki.com.

In short

  • You can photograph your fridge, pantry or freezer. AI reads the photo and lists the food it sees. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
  • To plan your week, we use the country and region you enter, your household size, budget, food preferences and what is in your pantry.
  • Diet and allergy information is used only if you give your explicit consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • We do not sell your data, we do not show ads and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • Apple handles payment. We never see your card details.
  • You can delete your account and data in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.

What we collect

  • Account: an anonymous account is created when you first open the app. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and, from Google, your name.
  • What you enter: country and region, household size, weekly budget, food preferences, kitchen equipment, the stores you use, your pantry list and, if you add it, what you spent in a week.
  • Diet and allergies: only with your explicit consent.
  • Photos: the photos you take or pick for a scan. You can type your pantry instead.
  • What the app creates: meal plans, shopping lists and savings reports.
  • Subscription status: your plan, trial and renewal dates, shared by Apple through RevenueCat.
  • Usage analytics: only if you allow it. For example "plan created" or "meal swapped", with the app version, device model and language.
  • Crash reports and technical logs: crash reports, IP address and request times, used to keep the app working and secure.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photo library (only the photos you choose for a scan), advertising identifier or payment details.

How we use it

We use your data to run your account, read your photos, plan meals, build shopping lists and savings reports, manage your subscription, fix errors, keep the service secure and answer your messages. Analytics, if you allow it, helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

AI creates your plans and pantry list, but you can edit, swap or ignore any suggestion. Allergy filtering is a help, not a guarantee: always check product labels.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers to run WattaEat:

  • Google Firebase (sign-in, database, server functions, crash reports, analytics if you allow it). Your app data is stored in Google's European region.
  • Wiro (wiro.ai), an AI gateway that passes photo and planning requests to Anthropic or Google AI models. These providers process requests under their own terms and may keep them for a limited time, for example to prevent abuse.
  • RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions and free trials.
  • Apple, which sells the subscription and handles payment under its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States, under contracts that protect it. We may also share data when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law, such as purchase records for tax purposes. Diet and allergy information is deleted as soon as you withdraw consent.

Your choices and rights

  • Change or delete your data in Settings, and delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
  • Turn analytics or diet and allergy consent on or off at any time in Settings.
  • Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, US states or Canada), you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to stop certain processing. Write to hello@alicantilki.com and we will answer within the time the law requires.
  • You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

WattaEat is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app first. The date at the top shows the latest version.
